Luggage Regulations
 
Luggage regulations: All flights except US origin/destination

In order to simplify all regulations concerning luggage, the following will be implemented for tickets sold as of FEBRUARY 3 2009.

On all EMB 110 BANDEIRANTE FLIGHTS:
Checked luggage allowance: 1 piece of max 20 Kg (44 lbs) 
Carry-on luggage allowance: 1 piece of up to 10 Kg (22 lbs) with the following maximum dimensions: length 56 cm, width 45 cm and depth of 25 cm. These dimensions include wheels, handles, side pockets, etc.
Overweight fee: USD 3 per Kg (2 lbs).  One single piece may not be heavier than 32 Kg (70 lbs), regardless of excess baggage fees, and may be refused carriage.
 
*Note: EMB 110 Aircraft are not equiped with overhead storage.  Any carry-on luggage that does not fit under the passenger's seat must be checked airside.  Airside checked luggage does not count toward checked luggage allowances.


On all MD-80 FLIGHTS:
Checked luggage allowance: 30 Kg (66 lbs) max in up to two (2)  pieces.  
Carry-on luggage allowance: 1 piece of  up to 10 Kg (22 lbs) with the following maximum dimensions: length 56 cm, width 45 cm and depth of 25 cm to fit in the overhead compartment. These dimensions include wheels, handles, side pockets, etc. Any items not fitting in the overhead compartment or under the passenger's seat must be checked airside.  Airside checked luggage does not count toward checked luggage allowances.
Overweight fee: USD 5 per Kg (2 lbs).  One single piece may not be heavier than 32 Kg (70 lbs), regardless of excess baggage fees, and may be refused carriage.

COMBINED flights (MD-80 plus EMB 110 Bandeirante, e.g SXM-BON) are considered MD-80 flights for the purpose of luggage allowance.

Luggage regulations: US origin/destination

Checked luggage allowance: 2 pieces of up to 20 Kg (44 lbs) each for a total of 40 Kg (88 lbs). 
•  Carry-on luggage allowance: 1 piece of  up to 10 Kg (22 lbs) with the following maximum dimensions: length 56 cm, width 45 cm and depth of 25 cm to fit in the overhead compartment. These dimensions include wheels, handles, side pockets, etc. Any items not fitting in the overhead compartment or under the passenger's seat must be checked airside.  Airside checked luggage does not count toward checked luggage allowances.
Odd size pieces: Pieces larger than 158 cm (62 inch) adding the dimensions: height + width + length are considered odd size luggage. For odd size pieces an extra USD 50 fee per odd piece is applicable in addition to any Overweight fees that may also be applicable.
Overweight fee: USD 50 per 10 Kg (22 lbs), or portion thereof.  One single piece may not be heavier than 32 Kg (70 lbs), regardless of excess baggage fees, and may be refused carriage.
