Before the end of 2009 InselAir will have extra airplanes and extra service. Big investments pending in the coming months.
This year InselAir will add two more planes at its fleet. In July an extra airplane will be added to the fleet while a second MD82 will be incorporated as of November 2009.With this the InselAir fleet will consist of 4 airplanes and two Embraer-Bandeirante aircraft. The extra two planes will be configured with a business class. With the incorporation of these two aircraft the itinerary of InselAir will be expanded. As of the 4th of July 2009 InselAir will start flights from Bonaire into Miami v.v. on Saturdays and on Sundays there will be a third flight to Puerto Rico, which will be added especially for the cruise tourism to and from Puerto Rico. Once a week, in high season there will be also a direct flight from Curacao to Punta Cana and also there will be direct flights from Curacao to Orlando v.v. with this last flight there will be the possibility for our passengers to fly from Curacao to Orlando and take a car to Miami, once they have finished their vacation in Orlando, They can stay a few days and then take the plane from Miami back to Curacao. This all means that there will by then be daily flights from Curacao to Miami. An increase in frequency is also planned on the route via St Maarten to Santo Domingo (4 times per week) and Port au Prince Haiti (3 times per week). To guarantee a good communication between the island InselAir will as of July fly to Aruba in the morning, midday and evening with a Jet aircraft while the embraer will fly extra flight to Bonaire. With the jet flight InselAir may carry much more passengers for a seamless transfer from Aruba to the other InselAir destinations.
InselAir has been placed on the white list of the Civil Aviation of The Netherlands
InselAir has recently passed an Dutch/European audit by Arkefly successfully. Now InselAir has been placed on the white list of airline companies in Europe. Now these European/Dutch companies are allowed to use InselAir as a cooperation partner or a back up partner in case something might go wrong with their own aircraft. During the years 2007 and 2008, InselAir has done all that was possible to be ready for this audit. This is the second very important audit for InselAir. The audit by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in order to obtain the right to fly on the several USA destinations was passed successfully also. This FAA audit was very difficult however based on our experience and know-how of other audits we passed this also without problems.
Audited areas.
Security in general, the maintenance program, the service level, the quality of the courses that our personnel have to do, the condition of our aircraft the quality of our quality department, the management of the company, these are all areas that were audited by Arkefly. The results were very satisfactory. By this InselAir has proven to have the knowledge of aviation on our island. By doing the audit successfully we can now say that our company in all its aspects is a safe one. The same results we have we being audited by our own civil aviation authority.
A successful year
The year 2008 was a very good year for Inselair. A profit of 2 millions Antillean guilders has been made. This has fortified the confidence of the investors as of the leas company in InselAir. Therefore more investments will be done in the company like to go for extra airplanes, expand the routes, and also by expanding the amount of employees. Also the development and expansion of flight to Miami and Surinam and Miami has created more confidence especially when we look to the occupancy rate of more than 70 percent in the last months . Also the expansion of the flights to Miami (to 7 times a week)and the loads of the new flight to Puerto Rico (+55%) have made the confidence stronger.
Therefore the Management of InselAir is grateful to the people of Curacao and St. Maarten and also from the other islands of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. They supported InselAir without any hesitation. This also counts for the people of Venezuela Surinam ,Miami and all our other destinations. Therefore InselAir will continue to listen to the desires of our people (our passengers) just as we have done in the past and make sure that the amount of passengers will increase, which means that more and more people will enjoy the services of InselAir. We will listen more closely to what our passengers want and we will try to comply as much as possible with their wishes.
