The InselAir Tarmac Delay Plan

OVERVIEW:

InselAir is committed to operate a reliable schedule, aiming to provide our customers with an on time arrival and departure punctuality.
In the unlucky event that our flights are encountering delays whilst passengers are on board (known as tarmac delays) due to safety considerations, weather, air traffic control, airport congestion, and/or other factors, we want to assure our passengers that all reasonable measures will be taken to make them feel comfortable under the circumstances.

ASSURANCES TO CUSTOMERS:

For those flights encountering a tarmac delay at US airports in accordance with the US Department Of Transportation (D.O.T.) regulation 14 CFR Part 259; we want to give our passengers the following assurances;

  1. We will not permit our aircraft to remain on the tarmac at a US airport for MORE THAN FOUR (4) hours before allowing our passengers to disembark, UNLESS :Our pilot-in command determines there is a safety related or security related reason why the aircraft cannot leave its position on the tarmac to deplane passengers Air traffic control advises our pilot-in-command that returning to the gate or any other disembarkation point to deplane passengers would significantly disrupt airport operations.
  2. Where there are delays at US airports, we will provide adequate food (snack type- cereal bars/biscuits) and drinking water no later than two (2) hours after aircraft leaves the gate (departure) or touches down (arrival) unless :Our pilot-in-command determines that safety or security considerations prevent such service to be provided.
  3. We will ensure operable lavatory facilities are available, as well as provision of adequate medical attention (if needed-with the assistance of airport emergency personnel) while aircraft on the tarmac.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Our Operations Control Center (O.C.C.) is responsible for the management and implementation of plan. The decision-making lies within the O.C.C. - Customers Services, Flight Operations, in flight Services will carry out the plan at the station and flight level throughout the flight delay communication between InselAir O.C.C. and the flight crew will be continual. All stations have sufficient reasonable resources to implement the plan. All stations have coordinated plans with airport operations and local governmental agencies to meet the Tarmac-delay rules requirements. If we are on a code share flight the Tarmac Delay Plan of the operating airline will govern the flight in question.

COMMUNICATION:

InselAir will issue notifications regarding the status of the delay every 30 minutes while aircraft is delayed including the reasons for the tarmac delay, if known we will begin to notify our passengers, 30 minutes after scheduled arrival or departure time and every 30 minutes thereafter that if the opportunity to disembark exists, they will have the possibility to do so. However: the possibility to disembark can only be authorized by the pilot-in-command taking into consideration the safety and security of other passengers, the crew, and the aircraft. As well as any directives given by air traffic control. As an international carrier the disembarkation of any passenger once their bags have been loaded will result in the offloading of all their hold baggage. Passengers wishing to disembark should be made aware that they do so at their own risk and there is no guarantee they will be able to board again once their bags have been removed and the cabin searched before the aircraft departs. Passengers holding a non refundable ticket will not be entitled to a refund; and regardless of ticket type passengers who choose to disembark and as a result miss their flight will not be entitled to rebooking or overnight accommodation, refreshments and ground transportation. Full information allowing passengers to make an informed choice before taking the decision to disembark the aircraft will be made available from our cabin crew or airport staff.
