Odd-size & Special baggage
Odd-size baggage cannot be transferred on the EMB-110 and Fokker 50 aircrafts.
Boxes
Boxes will be charged at USD50 per 10 kg (22lbs).
Water sport equipment: Wind-, wave-, kite surf equipment and body boards
If your surfing equipment is not longer than 107cm (42inch) in length and not heavier than 20 kg (44lbs), it can be regarded as a normal piece of luggage.
If you take any kind of water sport equipment on top of your standard baggage allowance, you will pay a fee of $100 for each sport equipment bag. Please make sure to mention your gear upon reservation.
Windsurf: An equipment bag may consist of a board, mast, sail and boom. Bag can be max 300cm (118inch) long and not heavier that 30kg. Equipment bag can only be transported onboard the MD-80 aircraft. Windsurf equipment bags cannot be transferred on the EMB-110 and Fokker 50 aircrafts. Equipment bag will be sent on the next available MD-80 flight.
Kite surf: An equipment bag may consist of a board and a kite bag. These should preferably be packed in one equipment bag. Kite surf equipment bags cannot be transferred on the EMB-110.
Wave surf: A wave surfboard must have fins removed. Surf board cannot be longer than 300cm (118inch). Wave surfboard equipment bag cannot be transferred on the EMB-110 and Fokker 50 aircrafts. Equipment bag will be sent on the next available MD-80 flight.
Scuba-Dive equipment
All divers receive a 10kg (22lbs) of extra baggage allowance on all scuba gear. Please make sure to mention your gear upon reservation. Equipment on top of this allowance will be feed at USD5 per kg (2.2lbs). Please make sure all scuba gear and equipment is transported in a seperate bag. It is not allowed to bring your scuba tank.
Bicycles
All bicycles should be packaged in a bike box or other suitable package. You pay a USD 5 per kg (2.2lbs) fee if you bring a bicycle on top of your regular baggage allowance.
Golf bags
A golf bag consisting of clubs, balls and small clothing, can be considered regular baggage. If you bring a golf bag on top of your regular baggage allowance or your golf bag exceeds the weight of 20kg (44lbs) a fee of USD 10 per kg (2.2lbs) will be charged.
When traveling in Comfort Class, you’ll be allowed to bring one Golf bag on top your regular baggage allowance for free.

Traveling with children under 2 years old
If you are traveling with a child under 2 years all, you are allowed to bring the following on top of your regular baggage:
As carry-on:

One (1) diaper bag with maximum weight of 5 kg (11lbs). The diaper bag should be able to fit under the seat in front of you.

One (1) FAA approved car seat OR one (1) FAA approved stroller removable seat

Only possible in combination with booked window seat to place child seat on.

Not possible on front or back of emergency row, on emergency rows and aisle seats.

Special aid
Wheelchairs can be checked-in free of charge on top of your regular baggage allowance. Please inform your travel agent or the InselAir call center on your extra baggage via +5999 737 0444 or 1800 386 4800. Wheelchair will be tagged at check in and taken at the door of the aircraft when boarding..
Transportation of animals
All animals except for special service animals are required to be kept in a kennel or similar container that provides for the animal well being and safety and security of the other passengers and ground personnel.
If the animal is suppose to be transported in the cabin of the aircraft the kennel must be fit completely underneath the seat in front of the passenger’s assigned seats to be satisfaction to the cabin crew whose judgment is final.
Notification of animal transport must be made and accept by Inselair at the time of reservation and final acceptance of the animal is the sole discretion of the check-in personnel and ultimately the Captain of the aircraft whose judgment is final.
Inselair shall not be liable for any expenses arising from an animal that is denied carriage.
Special service animals are accepted as long all of the following conditions are met:

Notification of the service animal must be made to Inselair at the time of reservation or 72 hour before schedule departure.

The passenger provides, upon request a certified medical statement outlining the medical requirements for the service animal.

Additional fees may be applicable for transport of service animals. Fees must be paid before date of departure.
Entry of animals, including service animals into any country is full responsibility of the passenger.
InselAir assumes no responsibility for the animals denied entry, quarantined, or euthanized due to denial of entry by government officials.
Fare traveling on a MD-80: weight of animal and kennel times $5,- per kilo.
Fare traveling on FOKKER or EMB: weight of animal and kennel times $3,- per kilo

Baggage Tips
Please make sure your baggage is correctly labeled on the outside as well as on the inside. To better locate your bag put a colorful ribbon or sticker on your luggage.
Prevent as much as possible to put electronics in your checked luggage. When packing electronics please make sure these are packed in a travelsafe case.
