    Must fit under the seat and cannot have wheels

Check-in luggage allowance

  • Allowance: 1
  • Weight: 1x 23kg (FREE) (max. 32kg)
  • Dimension: L+H+W <158cm
  • A fee of USD 40* is applicable if baggage weight is between 23kg and 32kg
    * The fee of USD 40 is not applicable for Diamond Insel Starmiles members

Extra checked-in luggage

  • Total checked-in pieces per person: 3 per person (including the free baggage)
  • Allowance: 23kg (max. 32kg)
  • Dimension: L+H+W < 158cm
  • 1st extra piece: USD 40
  • 2nd extra piece: USD 150
  • fee of USD 40* is applicable if baggage weight is between 23kg and 32kg

  • Max length: 127cm
  • Max width: 86cm
  • Max height: 50cm

Odd-sized & special baggage
A baggage is considered 'odd-sized' if it does not meet the general baggage specifications. Due to limited space available on the Fokker 50, ‘odd-sized’ baggage will be accepted depending on the dimensions and space available on the aircraft. It is advised to contact our Customer Service Department customerrelations@fly-inselair.com in case you have odd-sized baggage to transport.

 

Boxes
A box is considered as a regular piece of baggage

  • Allowance: 23kg (max. 32kg)
  • 2nd  box: USD 40
  • 3rd  box: USD 150
  • A fee of USD 40 is applicable if box weight is between 23kg and 32kg
  • If weight is more than 32kg, box must be shipped through InselAir Cargo
  • Box must be of high quality hard carton
  • Box must be well packed and completely closed
  • InselAir staff has the right to decline boxes that do not meet the requirements above

 

Water sport equipment

  • Windsurf equipment: Windsurf equipment bag may consist of a board, a mast, sail and a boom
  • Kitesurf equipment: Kitesurf equipment bag may consist of a board and a kite bag (all in one bag)
  • Surf/body board equipment: Surf/body board equipment bag may consist of one surf/body board and all fins must be removed

For all equipment the following applies

  • Length: 292cm max, however the transportation depends on the available aircraft.
  • Fee: USD 100 per stretch (one-way) per piece of equipment (max 23kg).
  • A fee of USD 40 is applicable in addition to the USD 100 fee, if baggage weight is between 23kg and 32kg.

Procedure:

  1. At least 5 business days prior to your travel a request needs to be send per email with the specifications of your equipment, your ticket number and full name to our Customer Service Department customerrelations@fly-inselair.com
  2. The Customer Service Department will confirm or decline your request per email within 2 business days
  3. InselAir may ask you to drop off your equipment ahead of your flight as your equipment might be transported on another flight
  4. Although we always do our utmost, be aware that only limited space is available on our aircraft and we cannot guarantee the (timely) transportation of your equipment
  5. At the time of an event in the Region that we serve, the transportation of multiple equipment might be extra challenging due to the many requests we usually receive

 

Scuba-Dive equipment

Important: Scuba tanks are only allowed if tank is completely empty. Gauge should be working properly and should display 0 (ZERO, no pressure).

Scuba equipment may consist of:

  • 1 scuba tank and 1 equipment bag (all in one bag)
  • All scuba equipment must be packed in a separate bag from regular checked baggage
  • All divers receive an extra 10kg bag for scuba gear free of charge
  • A fee of USD 40 is applicable if weight of scuba gear is between 10kg and 23kg
  • A fee of USD 80 is applicable if weight of scuba gear is between 23kg and 32kg
  • For extra/excess baggage allowance and fees please check regular baggage regulations
  • At the time of reservation, you must notify the reservation agent that you will be travelling with a scuba-dive equipment

 

Bicycles

  • One bicycle allowed per passenger
  • Allowance: 23kg
  • Dimension: L + H + W = 158cm
  • A fee of USD 50 is applicable per bicycle per segment (one-way)
  • A fee of USD 40 is applicable, if weight of bicycle is between 23kg and 32kg
  • Bicycle (and / or parts) should be packed in an appropriate box (1 box)
  • Due to limited space available on the Fokker 50, Insel cannot guarantee arrival of the bicycle together with the passenger
  • InselAir may ask you to drop off your bicycle ahead of your flight as your bicycle might be transported to its final destination on another flight
  • At the time of reservation, you must notify the reservation agent that you will be travelling with a bicycle

 

Traveling with children under 2 years old

If you are traveling with a child under 2 years, you are allowed to bring the following on top of your regular baggage

As carry-on

  1. One (1) diaper bag with maxium weight of 5 kg (11lbs). The diaper bag should be able to fit under the seat in front of you.
  2. One (1) FAA approved car seat OR one (1) FAA approved stroller removable seat
  • Only possible in combination with booked window seat to place child seat on.
  • Not possible on front or back of emergency row, on emergency rows and aisle seats.
  • Please inform travel agent or call center upon making reservations. 

Golf bags
A golf bag may consist of:

  • Clubs, balls and small clothing
    Fee: USD 40* per golf bag
    * Diamond members are allowed to bring one golf bag on top of their regular baggage allowance for FREE.

Musical Instruments
Musical instruments are not considered as a regular piece of baggage.

  • A fee of USD 2.20 per kg is applicable
  • If instrument is fragile and will travel in the cabin, the fee is still applicable
  • At the time of reservation, you must notify the reservation agent that you will be travelling with a musical instrument

 

Televisions
A television is not a regular piece of baggage.

  • Fee: USD 40 for a 35” television
  • Fee: USD 80 for a second 35” television
  • If television is between 35” – 42”, the oversize fee of USD 40 is applicable in addition to the USD 40 / USD 80 fee
  • Insel does not allow televisions over 42” inch on board its aircraft. These must be transported as cargo

 

Freezone baggage
All Free zone baggage can be up to 23kg. If Free zone baggage is more than 23kg and not heavier than 32kg a fee of USD 40 is applicable.

  • 1st piece up to 23kg: FREE
  • 2nd piece up to 23kg: USD 40
  • 3rd piece up to 23kg: USD 80
  • 4th piece or more than 23kg: USD 100 each

 Hoverboard and self balancing boards are not allowed on InselAir Flights
